relatively new world of learning and accelerate their
interactions and absorption of concepts, within their real
life environments.
Our K-2 tutoring classes are about character building,
reinforcement and the enhancement of student understanding
through elementary education in the areas of literacy and
numeracy.
Relying a wide base of resources, including internally
developed materials and innovative teaching methodologies,
our teachers encourage student participation and exploration
so that students can clarify ideas, learn to solve problems
and utilise their creative instincts.
The K-2 Literacy course involves getting students
to:
Recognise that language is made up of words
See how words can be broken into letters and sounds
Learn to identify, trace and write letters of the alphabet
Share in the telling of stories, news, and games.
Recite or retell stories, poems or rhymes.
Express their emotions, feelings or ideas.
Respond to or give instructions.
Learn how to hold a pencil correctly and utilise our other
resources for the creation of their own texts.
Understand that things happen in a particular order and that
patterns or etiquettes exist (e.g. learn to talk and listen,
or say hello and goodbye).
Make meaning of the world around them and share this with
people.
The K-2 Numeracy course covers:
The learning of numbers
Adding and Subtracting
Understanding lengths and widths
Recognising shapes and patterns
The link between money and numbers.
In our tutoring courses, students are taught through
exercises which involve pictures, animations, games, sounds,
speaking, reading and recitations. Alpha Omega Education
sees this as a way of making teaching students in a fun and
engaging manner, so that students develop a positive
attitude towards learning.
