As a
compulsory component of the HSC, English is a central
subject in the success of any HSC student, during and beyond
their academic career.
At HSC level, English is about students
taking a greater responsibility for their thinking and
learning through the close and critical analysis of texts,
the exploration of ideas, the understanding of audiences,
and the shaping of meaning.
Students demonstrate their English
language and literacy capabilities through the synthesis of
their skills and understandings to create their own
expressive texts, critiques or representations.
