High School -
Science
Everything around us from
the computer you are sitting at now, to the clock that may
be ticking in the background, contains an element of
science.
Science is not only
about knowing and understanding what things do and why
things happen, but also about
planning, investigating and
problem solving.
Aside from English and
Mathematics, Science is the only other integral component of
the first few years of High School education.
Alpha Omega Education Science Courses
Adhering to the Board of
Studies Curriculum and subject syllabus, our Science courses
expand upon the primary level explorations of science and
technology to cover preliminary Biology, Chemistry, Physics,
Earth and the Environmental Sciences.
Topics that may be covered include:
The History of Science
Flora and Fauna
Biodiversity and Ecology
of Living things.
Rocks and the Physical
Environment
The atmosphere, fossil
fuels and seismic activity
The human body and human
senses
Atoms, cells and
structures.
Simple machines: levers,
pulleys and gears.
Acids, bases, chemicals,
compounds and reactions.
Energy and Forces: light,
sound, heat, friction and magnetism.
The Big-Bang theory, Outer
Space and our existence.
Scientific models,

Science Tuition
At Alpha Omega Education,
we believe that scientific theory should be coupled with
experimentation and application. Therefore, our lessons
incorporate all the elements that can only be learnt from
science including the advanced analysis or development of
hypotheses and models, testing of scientific laws, and the
investigation or examination of scientific phenomenon.
Our tutors are highly
knowledgeable in syllabus content areas and well trained to
deliver scientific teachings in a scientifically controlled,
disciplined and enjoyable capacity.
Our tutoring classes often incorporate simple and safe
experiments, such as:
using a balloon to measure
the rate of respiration of students in class
making a DNA strand
testing reflexes
building chemical elements
observing and measuring
the speed of different cars
And many more …
We find that these
practical elements of teaching make scientific concepts and
lessons more memorable and prove to be more insightful for
students.
Our students walk away
from our tutoring with a greater understanding of scientific
processes and procedures. They develop newer, and expand
upon, skill sets, competencies and critical thinking
abilities.
