High School -
School Certificate
The School
Certificate is a milestone for Year 10 students for two main
reasons:
1. It is the closest academic and atmospheric experience
that students will have to the HSC experience.
2. It acts an alternative certificate of achievement to the
HSC for those that make the decision to leave school and
pursue a career or an ambition.
What is the School Certificate?
The school certificate is
the recognition of academic attainment, earned over the two
- four years leading up to the Year 10 School Certificate
examinations.
The Year 10 School
Certificate assesses a students fundamental and general
knowledge in the areas of
English-literacy; Mathematics; Science; Australian History,
Geography, Civics and Citizenship and Computing Skills.
All students in Year 10
are required to sit a state-wide examination in November of
each year in order to qualify for their certificate of
achievement.
Year 10 School Certificate Preparation at Alpha Omega
Alpha Omega Education
provides ongoing support and insight for our Year 10
students through our regular tutoring classes. These lessons
have the added benefit of developing appropriate study
habits and attitudes, and advancing students beyond their
comfort zones.
We also hold uniquely
developed workshops aimed at
revising, reinforcing and
preparing Year 10 students for the English, Mathematics and
Science components of the Year 10 Certificate examinations.
These workshops cover some of the common areas of
student exertion by helping them manage their time, exposing
them to sample exam questions or techniques, and providing
them with relevant advice.
The Role of our Tutors and Teachers
At Alpha Omega Education,
we try to select and train the best tutors or teachers to
not only ensure that they have a distinct knowledge of the
syllabus and curriculum content but also to deliver content
in an effective and memorable manner.
Teachers at Alpha Omega
Education, make it their responsibility to ensure that each
of their students is inspired to apply themselves
academically, that they trigger the need and desire in
students to perform and that they ultimately empower
students to succeed above and beyond their own expectations.
