Brian Shadwick
Brian is a retired Deputy Principal of Condell Park High School who boasts a 38 year teaching career in school and over 30 years teaching in private coaching colleges. Brian is the author of 32 books for Physics and Junior Science covering the NSW, Victorian and WA syllabuses. Brian is also an ex-supervisor of HSC Physics and School Certificate marking, and a past member of both syllabus and exam committees for HSC Physics and Junior Science at the Board of Studies”
Chris Papadopoulo
Having started teaching in 1986, Chris has broad experience in bringing success to HSC students. After spending 11 years at Kingsgrove High School, 9 years at MLC School and 3 years as Head of Science at Bankstown Grammar School, Chris is currently the Science Coordinator at Ravenswood School for Girls. Chris has taught HSC Chemistry, HSC Physics, International Baccalaureatte Physics and Junior Science and has written Trial HSC Chemistry papers for NEAP from 2002-2005. In 2002, Chris coached the student who won the gold medal in the Chemistry Olympiad and in 2005 Chris taught the student who came first in NSW in HSC Physics
Khiet Hoang
Khiet Hoang graduated with honours in Electrical Engineering at the University of Sydney. He retrained - gaining his Master of Teaching - and has been teaching since 1989, specialising in Extension 2 Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. His first teaching post at a school was at Casimir Catholic College (Marrickville).
Khiet has also written HSC Text Books, including three Mathematics text books for grades 11 and 12 soon to be published to coincide with the introduction of the 2011 maths syllabuses. Khiet is currently a senior teacher at Kellyville High School teaching Physics and Extension 2 maths.
With a very motivational and entertaining approach to teaching, Khiet has also had a speaking role in the movie Little Fish with Cate Blanchette and appeared in numerous ads and television series.
Stephen Awaad
Stephen has been Head Teacher of Senior Mathematics at Alpha Omega Education since 2004. Responsible for all HSC Mathematics programming, course development and course training of all HSC Mathematics teachers, Stephens’ deep knowledge of HSC Mathematics courses (General, Advanced, Ext. 1 and Ext 2) is unrivalled.
Known for his passion, excitement and motivational style of teaching, Stephen’s students leave his classes with a burst of confidence feeling they can truly achieve their dreams. Testimony to this, is his students’ HSC success. Stephen’s students have ranked in the top 10 of the state in Ext. 1 and Ext. 2 Mathematics in NSW.
Stephen is also an advisor and consultant for HSC Mathematics teachers and a mentor for accelerated and advanced HSC students.
Zena Dabaja
Zena Dabaja currently works as a Deputy Principal for the Department of Education and Training.Her teaching and consultancy roles throughout her career have spanned a wide range of comprehensive public and private secondary schools.
During her 14 years teaching and SC and HSC marking experience, she has employed her expertise to achieve outstanding results. This is reflected by a steady stream of Band 6 results in Standard, Advanced, Extension 1 and Extension 2 English and Society and Culture. Such results have also included State Awards and Merit Listed Students.
Zena is highly sought after coach and motivational speaker who is secured regularly as a consultant by a number of prestigious schools in Sydney.
Cheiban Elaro
With 17 years teaching experience, including Burwood Girls High School, Cheiban (Chabes) Elaro currently holds the position as Head Teacher of English at Homebush Boys High School.
Cheiban has extensive experience in developing assessments, programmes, resources and teaching strategies for the current HSC English courses, which were first implemented in 2001. Having taught and specialised in each of the HSC English courses on offer (excluding the ESL course), the success of his students has been outstanding. He has regularly taught students achieving highest bands both in the Standard and the Advanced courses. Also involved as a HSC marker, Cheiban has marked all three sections of paper 1 (the Area of Study) between 2001 and 2005 and Extension 2 major works since 2005. Furthermore, Cheiban has presented papers at a district level in the first two years of the new HSC courses and has presented units of work and whole programmes to Head Teachers in the Strathfield region over the past 4 years. Cheibans ability to simplify the most complex of English courses to students has made him a very successful and sought after teacher.
